Miophyseter chitaensis

Taxonomy
Miophyseter chitaensis was named by Kimura and Hasegawa (2022). Its type specimen is TMNH10785, a partial skeleton (cranium with isolated right ear bones (periotic, tympanic bulla, and malleus), teeth, atlas, and many bone fragments including parts of the mandible and postcra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Toyohama, which is in a Burdigalian marine horizon in the Toyohama Formation of Japan.
