Taxonomy
Strangerites obliquus was named by Emmons (1856). It is not extant. Its type locality is Ellington's, Rhynie Wicker's property, which is in a Triassic terrestrial shale/bituminous coal in North Carolina.
It was recombined as Pseudodanaeopsis obliqua by Fontaine (1900), Knowlton (1919).
