It was reranked as the tribe Brochocoleini by Ponomarenko (1994), Soriano and Delclos (2006), Tan and Ren (2009), Tan et al. (2012), Jarzembowski et al. (2016), Yamamoto (2017), Jarzembowski et al. (2018); it was considered an invalid subgroup of Ommatinae by Kirejtshuk (2020); it was reranked as the subfamily Brochocoleinae by Cai et al. (2022).
It was assigned to Ommatinae by Ponomarenko (1994), Soriano and Delclos (2006), Tan and Ren (2009), Jarzembowski et al. (2016), Yamamoto (2017), Jarzembowski et al. (2018); and to Ommatidae by Tan et al. (2012), Cai et al. (2022).
