Taxonomy
Colocasioideaepites brevispina was named by Biswas (1962). It is not extant. Its type locality is Tura-Dalu Road Section, which is in an Eocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Tura Formation of India.
It was recombined as Monosulcites brevispinosus by Sah and Dutta (1966); it was recombined as Couperipollis brevispinosus by Venkatachala and Kar (1969), Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
