Zlichovaspis was named by Pribyl and Vanek (1971).

It was reranked as Odontochile (Zlichovaspis) by Pribyl and Vanek (1971) and Pek and Vanek (1989).

It was assigned to Odontochile by Pribyl and Vanek (1971) and Pek and Vanek (1989); to Dalmanitidae by Jell and Adrain (2002), Budil et al. (2008); and to Dalmanitinae by Budil et al. (2009).

Synonyms
  • Spinodontochile was named by Snajdr (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: D l Sepkoski's reference number: ZR85]. It is not extant.

    It was reranked as Odontochile (Spinodontochile) by Pek and Vanek (1989); it was synonymized subjectively with Zlichovaspis by Jell and Adrain (2002); it was considered an invalid subgroup of Zlichovaspis (Zlichovaspis) by Budil et al. (2009).

    It was assigned to Odontochile by Pek and Vanek (1989); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
