Taxonomy
Paramblypterus sottyi was named by Anonymous (1972). Its type specimen is MHNA S 451a,b, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Bourbonnella sottyi by Heyler (1977) and Poplin (2001).
