O'Gorman 2019Elasmosaurid clade supported by the following synapomorpies: Ch. 5 (0→1), orbit, ventral margin convex; Ch.50 (2→3), sagittal crest high and rising above the cranial table; Ch. 155 (0→1), ventral notch on articular faces of anterior and middle cervical centra; Ch. 202 (1→0), anterolateral margin of scapula (where dorsolateral process meet the ventral ramus) flat or gently convex; and Ch. 255 (1→2), tibia length/width ratio between 0.8 and 1.0.
