Prothyracodon uintense
Taxonomy
Prothyracodon uintense was named by Peterson (1919). Its type specimen is C. M. No. 3007a, a skull (skull and lower jaws of a young individual), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Myton Pocket, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah.
It was recombined as Epitriplopus uintensis by Wood (1927), Stock (1936), Radinsky (1967), Black (1979), Wilson and Schiebout (1984), Prothero (1998).
