Taxonomy
Calloplax roederi was named by Vendrasco et al. (2022). Its type specimen is LACMIP 43085.47, a valve (tail valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Super Creek "Imperial" Formation, which is in a Messinian marine siltstone in the "Imperial" Formation of California.
