Taxonomy
Limopsis demerei was named by Squires (2012). Its type specimen is LACMIP 13714, a valve (right valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 4898, El Camino Real, near Carlsbad Research Center, which is in a Maastrichtian coastal siliciclastic in the Point Loma Formation of California.
