Taxonomy
Nautilus dentatus was named by Reinecke (1818).

It was recombined as Ammonites dentatus by Oppel (1863); it was synonymized subjectively with Streblites weinlandi by Baudouin et al. (2011); it was recombined as Creniceras dentatum by Schlegelmilch (1994), Grigore (2018).
