Paleochelco occultato
Taxonomy
Paleochelco occultato was named by Martinelli et al. (2021). Its type specimen is MACN-Pv-N 120, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boca del Sapo, Universidad Nacional del Comahue, which is in a Santonian fluvial-deltaic sandstone in the Bajo de la Carpa Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Paleochelco.
