R. O. Clark et al. 2024Polycotyline plesiosaurs possessing the following synapomorphies: temporal fenestra anteroposteriorly very short (temporal fenestra length to cranial length ratio 0.15 or less), parasphenoid has cultriform process projecting into the anterior interpterygoid vacuity, caudal vertebrae chevron facets located on posterior edge of each centrum, coracoid has an anteroposteriorly straight anterior process. Also shares the following synapomorphies with Trinacromerum bentonianum: scapula has dorsal blade with distinct posterodorsal inflection, pelvic fenestra has much greater mediolateral width than anteroposterior length.
