Stropheodonta dorlodoti was named by Asselberghs (1912) [Stropheodonta Dorlodoti]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc123. disused quarry just northwest of Emines, which is in a Frasnian carbonate limestone in the Bovesse Formation of Belgium.
It was recombined as Douvillina dorlodoti by Mottequin (2019).
