Taxonomy
Phacops araw was named by McKellar and Chatterton (2009). Its type specimen is UA 6904 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 272 m., Section 1, Jbel Oufatene. Proetus/Phacops Couche, which is in an Eifelian carbonate limestone in the El Otfal Formation of Morocco.
