Phylloceras ezoensis was named by Yokoyama (1890).
It was synonymized subjectively with Phyllopachyceras forbesianum by Henderson (1970), Kennedy and Henderson (1992); it was recombined as Phyllopachyceras ezoense by Shigeta and Maeda (2005).
