Archaeocursor asiaticus was named by Yao et al. (2025). It is not extant. Its type specimen is L01-HY999. Its type locality is Xiantao Street, which is in a Sinemurian/Pliensbachian terrestrial marl in the Ziliujing Formation of China. It is the type species of Archaeocursor.
