Osspecus tuscia

Osspecus tuscia was named by Higgs et al. (2012) [Boring number 1 (Figures 3(a) and 4(a – c)) in a fossil cetacean radius stored in the Museo di Storia Naturale, Sezione di Geologia e Paleontologia, Florence, Italy (IGF 1134T).]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is IGF 1134T and is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Orciano Pisano, which is in a Piacenzian open shallow subtidal mudstone in Italy. It is the type species of Osspecus.
