Zlichovaspis azucena was named by Snajdr (1987).

It was recombined as Odontochile (Zlichovaspis) azucena by Pek and Vanek (1989); it was recombined as Zlichovaspis (Zlichovaspis) azucena by Budil et al. (2009).
