Holmer et al. 2000Shell subcircular with convex posterior margin; ventral valve highly conical, bearing extremely long external pedicle tube; ventral pseudointerarea catacline to slightly procline, divided by weak intertrough; dorsal valve weakly convex with subtriangular pseudointerarea, occupying about half of valve width, divided by broad, triangular median groove; ventral interior dominated by apical process, occluding the umbo; dorsal median septum low, subtriangular, slightly buttressed posteriorly; dorsal cardinal muscle scars large, raised, extending anteriorly to mid-valve length.
