Biradiolites mooretownensis was named by Trechmann (1924). Its type specimen is NHMUK PI L 63216 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Distefanella mooretownensis by Chubb (1971); it was recombined as Alencasterites mooretownensis by Pons et al. (2016).
