Diagnosis

C. J. Cleal and B. A. Thomas 2023	Lyginopteridaleans with radiospermic ovules with a well-developed micropyle and borne in uniovular cupules; distal part of nucellus forms a lagenostome with a central plug; integument adnate with nucellus except in distal part of ovule. Stem and rachis cortex with transverse sclerotic bands that showas transverse markings on the stem and rachis surfaces.
