Glanosuchus was named by Broom (1904). It is not extant. Its type is Glanosuchus macrops.
It was assigned to Therocephalia by Broom (1904), Broom (1913); to Pristerognathidae by Boonstra (1954); to Scymnosaurinae by Boonstra (1969); and to Scylacosauridae by Abdala et al. (2008).
