Synonyms

Natica coronis was named by Hanna and Israelsky (1925). Its type specimen is CAS 1715, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS Loc. 328, Corona Peak [Zorritos Fm], which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Zorritos Formation of Peru.

It was recombined as Polinices (Polinices) coronis by Olsson (1932); it was synonymized subjectively with Polinices stanislasmeunieri by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
Polinices caparona was named by Maury (1925). It is a 3D body fossil.
