Cyclonema daytonensis was named by Foerste (1899) [= Cyclonema bilix sensu Foerste 1889 p. 290 pl. 5 f. 15; Foerste 1893 p. 551 pl. 30 f. 15]. It is a 3D body fossil.
It was corrected as Cyclonema daytonense by Peel (1975); it was recombined as Cyclonema (Cyclonema) daytonense by Peel (1977).
