Taxonomy
Praelucina was named by Barrande (1881) [m. kosnik taxon no: 9517]. Its type is Praelucina protendens.

It was synonymized subjectively with Praecardium by Cox et al. (1969).

It was assigned to Praecardiinae by Vokes (1980); to Antipleuridae by Kříž (2007); and to Praelucinidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
