Metaxytherium aquitaniae

Taxonomy
Metaxytherium aquitaniae was named by Pilleri (1987). Its type specimen is NHMB 09.917/1926, a partial skull (skull cap and cast of the dorsal endocranium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gans, which is in an Aquitanian marine horizon in France.
