Taxonomy
Indosiren koeningswaldi was named by Sahni and Mishra (1975). Its type specimen is LUVP 11149, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Matanomadh, Miocene, which is in a Miocene marine shale in India.
