Taxonomy
Comahuesuchus brachybuccalis was named by Bonaparte (1991). Its type specimen is MUCPv-202. Its type locality is Universidad Nacional del Comahue (W), which is in a Santonian fluvial-deltaic sandstone in the Bajo de la Carpa Formation of Argentina.
