It was synonymized subjectively with Anomoepus by Olsen (1986).

It was assigned to Dinosauria by Hitchcock (1898), Lull (1904); to Reptilia by Lull (1917); to Coelurosauria by Kuhn (1958); to Selenichnidae by Lull (1953), Kuhn (1963); and to Saurischia by Haubold (1971), Haubold (1974).
