Zaraasuchus was named by Pol and Norell (2004). It is not extant.
It was assigned to Protosuchia by Fiorelli and Calvo (2008); to Crocodyliformes by Zaher et al. (2006), Clark (2011); to Crocodyliformes by Nascimento and Zaher (2011), Bronzati et al. (2012); and to Gobiosuchidae by Pol and Norell (2004), Buscalioni (2017).
