Taxonomy
Hispanosauropus hauboldi was named by Mensink and Mertmann (1984). It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Playa de Ribadesella tracksite, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine sandstone/marl in the Cabaços Formation of Spain.
It was considered a nomen nudum by Lires et al. (2001).
