Taxonomy
Archaeodontosaurus descouensi was named by Buffetaut (2005). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MHNDPal 2003-396. Its type locality is west of Ambondromamy, which is in a Bathonian coastal claystone/sandstone in the Isalo IIIb Formation of Madagascar.
