Machaeroprosopus tenuis
Taxonomy
Machaeroprosopus tenuis was named by Camp (1930). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Dry Creek Tank SE (UCMP V82040, PFV 55), which is in a Norian terrestrial horizon in the Chinle Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Rutiodon tenuis by Gregory (1962); it was synonymized subjectively with Pseudopalatus pristinus by Ballew (1989).
