Oliva cristobalcoloni was named by Maury (1917) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Oliva (Oliva) plicata by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Oliva (Oliva) cristobalcoloni by Woodring (1964).
