Taxonomy
Platyceras gebhardi was named by Conrad (1840) [I am not 100% certain that this is the correct Conrad reference.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was corrected as Platyceras gebharti by Conrad (1842); it was recombined as Platyceras (Platyceras) gebharti by Yochelson and Kříž (1974); it was recombined as Platyostoma gebhardi by Wagner (2023).
