Taxonomy
Euomphalopterus ordovicus was named by Longstaff (1924). It is not extant. Its type locality is Locality 1. small quarry by Old Mill Pond, Ardmillan, Girvan, Ayrshire, which is in a Harnagian carbonate limestone in the Balclatchie Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Boucotspira ordovicus by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).
