Taxonomy
Euomphalus marginalis was named by d'Eichwald (1860). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Eccyliopterus marginale by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Lesueurilla marginalis by Koken and Perner (1925), Wenz (1938); it was recombined as Mestoronema marginalis by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).
