Taxonomy
Madtsoia bai was named by Simpson (1933). It is not extant. Its type locality is Cañadón Vaca (Madtsoia bai holotype locality, Notostylops Beds), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
