Pseudomonotis (Trematiconcha) likharevi was named by Newell and Boyd (1970). Its type specimen is AMNH 28938, a valve (Left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AMNH2079, Artesia, which is in a Roadian carbonate limestone in the San Andres Formation of New Mexico.
