Strombiformis sarissiformis was named by Pilsbry and Johnson (1917) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; circum-Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 3010, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Eulima sarissiformis by Woodring (1970).
