Banisterobates boisseaui
Taxonomy
Banisterobates boisseaui was named by Fraser and Olsen (1996). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is VMNH 202, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Virginia Route 683 tracksite, which is in a Carnian terrestrial siltstone/sandstone in the Dry Fork Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Banisterobates.
