It was assigned to Lacertae by Gadow (1898); to Lacertidi by Perrier (1928); to Pygopodoidea by Kuhn (1946); to Pygopodoidea by Kuhn (1966); and to Gekkota by Duplicate (1950), Duplicate (1950), Seiffert (1975), Estes (1983), Estes et al. (1988), Lee and Caldwell (2000), Jonniaux and Kumazawa (2008).

Perrier 1928 | Rudiments des membres postérieurs bien développés, mais formant une masse indivise; à l'intérieur, les 5 orteils ossifiés, surtout chez les mâles; membres antérieurs absents, sternum rudimentaire. Position zoologique très incertaine. Rappelant les SCINCIDÆ par leur facies général, ils se rapprochent des Geckos par leur crâne, tout en présentant des différences marquées. Vivent sur le sol à la façon des Orvets. Australie. |
