Taxonomy
Naticina regia was named by Guppy (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Pliocene; Jamaica.]. Its type specimen is USNM 115450, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Eunaticina regia by Dall (1903), Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Sigatica regia by Hendy et al. (2008).
