Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
D. B. Wright 1998 | Suborbital bulla present; maxillopalatine labyrinth has dorsal median sulcus; palate extends posterioly nearly to level of glenoid fossa; infraorbital fossa has anterior accessory foramen; DP1 absent; glenoid fossa lies below ventral surface of auditory bulla; P4 having metaconule; p4 lacks paraconid, has mulicuspid talonid | |
R. P. Dutra et al. 2017 | The most anterior part of the facial crest reaches the naso-maxillary suture, differing from the Hesperhyinae, in which the facial crest reaches only above the infraorbital foramen. The angle formed by the anterior portion of the facial crest and the molar series is about 45°. The origin of the naso-labial elevator, superior labial, and canine muscles are well developed, forming a hollow surface. An enlargement of the crania is also a diagnostic character among the Tayassuinae. |
