Taxonomy
Arca particularis was named by del Rio (1992) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Argentina.]. Its type specimen is CPBA 12.528, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is SJE5 - Puerto Madryn Fm, which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in the Puerto Madryn Formation of Argentina.
