Taxonomy
Ammonites bullatus was named by d'Orbigny (1846). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R02272 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Bullatimorphites.

It was recombined as Stephanoceras bullatum by Waagen (1875); it was recombined as Kheraiceras (Kheraiceras) bullatum by Besnosov and Mitta (1993); it was recombined as Bullatimorphites (Kheraiceras) bullatus by Majidifard (2015).
