Globigerina inaequispira was named by Subbotina (1953) [84, pl. 6: figs. 1a-c (holotype), 4a-c [lower / middle Eocene Zone of conical Globorotalia, Kuban River, northern Caucasus], pl. 6: figs. 2a-3c [lower / middle Eocene Zone of conical Globorotalia, Foraminiferal layer, Series F1 (bottom), Kuban River, northern Caucasus].]. It is not extant.
It was recombined as Subbotina inaequispira by Blow (1979); it was synonymized subjectively with Subbotina triangularis by Olsson et al. (1999); it was recombined as Parasubbotina inaequispira by Pearson et al. (2004).
