Popanoceras sobolewskyanum
Taxonomy
Goniatites soboleskianus was named by de Verneuil (1845). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Artinsk, which is in an Artinskian marine sandstone in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Popanoceras.
It was recombined as Popanoceras sobolewskyanum by Ruzhentsev (1956), Sheng and Liu (1983), Leonova (2002); it was misspelled as Popanoceras sobolewskyanus by Zhou and Liengjarern (2004).
