Ladinula was named by Bandel (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Tr Nori Sepkoski's reference number: 1120]. It is the type genus of Ladinulidae.

It was assigned to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ladinulidae by Bandel (1992), Bouchet et al. (2005).
